We Are So Glad You’re Here

Brittany Booth, MD

Founder/Psychiatrist

Hello! I am Brittany Booth, a board-certified, UCLA-trained adult psychiatrist with a passion for treating people during reproductive transitions such as pregnancy and postpartum. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Boston University and my medical degree from UCLA. I also completed my psychiatry residency at UCLA, where I served as Chief Resident of the inpatient units and Chief Resident of the Women’s Life Center, a world-renowned center for reproductive psychiatry.

In addition to my private practice, I am also now the Associate Director of the Women’s Life Center and see patients in the UCLA Maternal Mental Health Intensive Outpatient Program, a 3-day per week program for pregnant and postpartum women who are experiencing more severe mental illness.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends, reading (mostly romantasy), baking, exploring new restaurants, watching movies, and seeing as many musicals as I can!

Ariella Farzan-Nikou, MD

Psychiatrist

Hi! I am Ariella Farzan-Nikou, an adult psychiatrist and graduate of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, a top-twenty medical school located in New York City. I also graduated summa cum laude from UCLA with a bachelor’s degree in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology and a minor in Anthropology. I am passionate about women’s mental health and the challenges that come with menstrual periods, infertility, pregnancy, the postpartum period, and menopause. Throughout my undergraduate and medical school education, I conducted research on polycystic ovarian syndrome and endometriosis, presented at conferences such as the Endocrine Society, and have been published in multiple journals, including the prestigious Fertility and Sterility.

I am finishing up my psychiatry residency at the University of Southern California. I treat a diverse population at Keck Medicine of USC, the OB Mental Health Clinic at LA General, the LA County Department of Mental Health, and the Department of Veterans Affairs. I currently serve as Chief Resident of the Integrated Care Clinics at LA General, which collaborates with OBGYN, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Geriatrics, and HIV Medicine to provide psychiatric care in primary care settings.

Outside of my medical practice, I enjoy playing with my kitten, Cleopatra; hiking (sometimes with Cleo, if she’s in the mood, of course); rock climbing; and trying new recipes!

OUR FOCUS

We specialize in perinatal psychiatry, which is a subset of reproductive psychiatry.

Reproductive psychiatry focuses on the management of psychiatric disorders during times of hormonal transition such as conception, fertility treatment, pregnancy, postpartum, and menopause.

Perinatal psychiatry focuses on management of mental health during pregnancy and postpartum, specifically.

These transitional times are complex, and managing psychiatric illness during them requires specialized training and care.
